Facebook (NAADAQ:FB) Could YELP (NYSE:YELP) Be A Good Buy-out Target?

Boston, MA, 05/15/2013 – Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) has millions of local businesses on its platform, and advertised posts drive large portions of FB’s revenues. Facebook has over 1.1 billion active users worldwide. FB could capitalize more of its active user’s simply by bringing in more local advertisers.

Yelp (NYSE:YELP) could be a great fit for Facebook. Yelp.com currently receives approximately 78 million visitors per month. Yelp.com’s core business is a local review site with a strong presence in North America and Europe. Facebook could integrate Yelp reviews directly into its platform. Yelp could be a prime buy-out candidate for Facebook due to their dominant position in the local review marketplace.

A merger of platforms could give Facebook users and advertisers an improved social media experience. Maybe Facebook needs to start spending some of it’s $10.5 billion in cash and buy-out some competitors with great technologies.
