Yelp and Angie’s List Small Business Owners to Get Two Months Free on …

ROYAL OAK, MI, Jul 31, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) —
Small business owners who are unhappy with public online review
sites now have an alternative for collecting authentic online reviews
and managing their reputation online. TruReview enables businesses to
solicit honest, validated reviews from actual customers only after a
transaction has taken place; additionally, only customers who have
had an appointment can submit free reviews of the company and
individual staff members. Now through October 1, 2013, TruReview is
offering business owners who are current Yelp and Angie’s List
customers two months of TruReview for free.

There is a growing perception regarding the proliferation of fake
positive reviews that tout the benefits of one business over others
as well as fake negative reviews posted simply to bring a business
down. Some online review sites set filtering parameters to exclude
large percentages of reviews from their star-rating systems, changing
in some instances a potential positive 5-star rating to a lukewarm 3-
or 3.5-star rating. Small businesses in particular are hurt by all
these practices as good service and positive word of mouth are their
primary marketing tools.

“Fabricated reviews of all types hurt the credibility of legitimate
small businesses that are the backbone of this country,” said Dwight
Zahringer, CEO of TruReview. “Our goal with TruReview is to restore
honesty and credibility in online recommendations so that consumers
have a realistic, accurate expectation of the service or product a
company delivers. For those businesses that have been hurt by ‘gamed’
reviews and want a viable alternative, TruReview is the ideal
solution.”

TruReview is accessible from any Internet browser. For business
owners, it provides an opportunity to solicit credible reviews based
on actual transactions with real customers, not friends, family or
others who simply are trying to stack the review deck. TruReview also
enables business owners to embed customer reviews in their website
and provide a level of customer service not available from other
online review sites. TruReview not only enables businesses to
schedule home appointments, but also it allows them to reconfirm the
appointment with the photo and credentials of the repair technician
visiting a customer’s home. This brings an added level of security
and knowledge for customers wanting to know who will show up at their
door.

According to Dorothy Tapling, Marketing Client Services Manager at
Flame Furnace (http://www.flamefurnace.com/index.php), the largest
Bryant Factory Authorized Dealer and one of the largest HVAC
contractors in all Michigan, “TruReview is easy for our customers to
use. In the past we asked our customers to go to sites like Yelp to
leave reviews on our employees and the quality of work, which
required customers to log in and set up accounts. These additional
steps frequently dissuaded otherwise happy customers from following
through with writing reviews.”

Zahringer added that as in the old days, a relationship between a
business owner and a customer can be now built on transparency, great
service, honesty and trust through TruReview. Reviews — both
positive and negative — are not filtered, hard to find or deleted.
“TruReview provides faith and credibility in the online review world,
allowing the voice of real consumers to give honest feedback about
small businesses across all industries throughout the United States.
I encourage small businesses, particularly those that have had bad
experiences with the likes of Yelp and Angie’s List, to try out our
service for free for two months.”
