Yelp Encourages People To Support Local Businesses This Holiday Season

Yelp.com, a website and mobile app to connect people to great local businesses, is encouraging people to shop local. Emily Cahill, Yelp Hartford community manager, visited the Fox CT morning extra to talk about a holiday bazaar the website is hosting on Dec. 7 at the New Britain Museum of American Art.

The event is free with a suggested $10 donation at the door. All proceeds will go to the museum to support their educational programming. More than two dozen local boutiques and artisans will be at the bazaar, and guests will be able to sample from local restaurants, bakeries, breweries, distilleries and more. Entertainment will include a fashion show by local designers and a performance by a local dance company.
