What Ever Happened to Billion Dollar Bully?
The long LONG awaited premiere of the anti-Yelp documentary, “Billion Dollar Bully,” was supposed to be today at the SF Doc Festival, but the producers pulled it for a better opportunity.
From their website, “We have an exciting update regarding the premiere of Billion Dollar Bully! As many of you are aware, we were provided with a great opportunity to premiere Billion Dollar Bully at SF DocFest. However, in the last 48 hours we were given an amazing opportunity to explore another avenue that would secure us a vastly wider audience. While we are so grateful to SF DocFest for the opportunity and for supporting our film, we have decided to move in a different direction. As such, Billion Dollar Bully will not be premiering at SF DocFest.
While we can’t share additional information at this time, we are incredibly grateful for your continued support and can’t wait to share the exciting details in the coming weeks!”
I backed the project, but honestly, still wondering how anyone can make a Yelp documentary without interviewing me. Every stock research company calls me when they are doing their updates, media calls weekly, but these guys had an agenda all their own. Maybe they think I’ve gone too soft on Yelp these past few years since I moved to Reno (our community manager rocks and yes, I might have softened a bit since I no longer live in a place where bad things happen on Yelp daily). We shall see…
